A magnificent tribute to Mexico's "Musical Poet," the composer of "Granada," "Solamente una vez," "Amor de mis Amores" and many more timeless melodies. The 2008 edition of this annual event features Mexico's greatest soprano Florencia Tinoco, master guitarist, Luis del Angel, and the magnificent voices of Sylvia Flores, Carlos Torres and Belinda Gomez and the inimitable Conjunto de Estrellas de Jaime Jaimes with Socorro Cruz as MC.

MARIACHI OPERA

The versatility of Grammy nominated Mariachi Sol de Mexico to expand to new audiences led to fabulous, unexpected collaberations with re-nown artists such as the Beach Boys, Willie Nelson, Vicente Hernandez, Selena, Jose Feliciano, and a record-breaking concert tour with the one and only Luis Miguel. Jose Hernandez and his Sol de Mexico on Mariachi and all music is undeniable. Que Viva Jose Hernandez y su Sol de Mexico. ~~ Florencia Tinoco has thrilled audiences worldwide with her beautifully expressive Lyrical Coloratura voice. Perhaps though, what she is becoming best known is for her unique style of combining Opera with the traditional Mariachi folk music of Mexico. "Que viva Florencia y su voz de mariachi a la clasica!"

The 2007 edition of this annual evening features the re-nowned Mexican tenor, Mauro Calderon and local favorites, soprano Gabriela Crowe and tenor Carlos Torres. Also featuring the exciting voice of Sylvia Flores and making her debut, the young 17-years-old Belinda Gomez.

Also featured will be the re-nowned Bribiesca disciple, guitarist Luis del Angel accompanied by the sensational voice of Victoria Gomez. Accompanying tonight's performers will be composer, arranger and pianist, Jaime Jaimes, and his Conjunto Estrellas featuring Homero Chavez (percussion, drums), Pascual Hernandez (bass), and Hugo Olvera, (keyboard).
