| Mission and Goals
Star Entertainment's mission is to bring to the general public of Los Angeles and surrounding communities, the best of Mexican and Latino cultural heritage, particularly in music and dance. Our belief is that we have a very rich cultural tradition in the arts that has not received legitimate exposure and recognition. Too much emphasis has been placed on contemporary musical trends that may not necessarily reflect the profound nature of our musical heritage. While there is nothing wrong with "banda" and "pop", we know that we have more to offer in terms of artistic expression. This is why, Star has produced concerts such as the Concierto Jose Alfredo Jimenez with the Orquesta de Baja California, El homenaje a Agustin Lara concerts (2005, 2006, 2007) and five sold out concerts (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) of the Fiesta Mexicana: Sones, Bailes, y Cantares.
Our intent is to continue to bring more of this high caliber cultural entertainment and also to expose our young people to their profound cultural traditions. We offer free admission and free workshops to low income youth that teach about dance and music interpretation and scholarships to deserving but economically challenged students.
We are proud of our productions because we produce beautiful music and at the same time create respect, pride, and honor in the rich Mexican and Latino cultural heritage.
